Meet Tendai Mundumbwila
SPA DIRECTOR | SEA CONTAINERS LONDON
SPA THERAPIST > HEAD THERAPIST > SPA MANAGER > SPA & WELLNESS DIRECTOR
What motivated you to join Hospitality, and what brought you to Lore Group?
I always knew I wanted to work with people, I love taking care of people and delivering great service! I was lucky enough to be recommended by an agency for the Therapist role. The time I went for my interview Sea Containers London Hotel was still a building site, what sold it for me was the signature partnerships, the holistic wellness approach and as a therapist being given anatomy to customise and curate treatments. The hotel design and its concept of the Transatlantic, it being next to the Southbank was another selling point for me, as I had just come back from working on a cruise ship.
What was your first role here, and how has your career progressed over time?
I was part of the opening spa team, as a therapist (2014-2016), I then moved on to being a Head Therapist (2016-2019) during this period I decided to go to Uni to attain BSc in Business Management, I left for a few years. Soon after I graduated, the Spa Manager and Wellness role became available, and I came back (2019- Current). At this time, I was working on my MSc in Business Management with Tourism. As of April 2025, I am now Spa & Wellness Director.
What are some of your proudest achievements during your time here?
I am very proud of the team I have, how we have managed to cultivate a space where teamwork and fun is really at the core of what we do and in turn our guests get authentic and excellent experiences. Launching Hedgerow our own spa brand, working on the project from conception using it in treatments to now retailing. I am also proud of the little community of guests that come back time and time again for their different celebrations or the ones that continuously visit the spa at certain times of the year.
What opportunities have you had here to develop new skills or advance your career?
My whole career here has helped me advance and develop from being able to creatively be part of the treatment curation, to now being a director.
How has Lore Group supported your career growth?
When I was studying, there was flexibility so I would be able to attend classes. I have also been exposed to numerous trainings, including leadership programs.

We are collaborative, and we have people who genuinely care about delivering excellence
What values or aspects of the Lore Group culture resonate most with you?
