Cultural Transformation

Contexts, creativity, collaborations

When you’re owner-operators, as we are, and all our properties are individual, we know we have different sustainability opportunities and challenges, and a responsibility to understand and define how each can contribute to the growth and positive evolution of their community and deliver of our Lore cultural values.

Better Environments

Our hotels are inspired by their buildings, their histories, and the neighbourhoods in which they are located. Our hotels are as different as the cities and the part of the context in which they are located. Thoughtful design is a pillar for Lore, and for us, it means a deeply considered use of space, adaptive design and circular use of materials — as led by Creative Director Jacu Strauss. We respect rather than overhaul the properties we inhabit, reusing and repurposing as much as we can. It’s also of paramount importance to create a sense of welcome and being accessible to our neighbours — one hint to how we do this is the opening of all our road-facing areas to the street.

 Accessibility and inclusivity

We’re ever actioning more accessibility audits to ensure all guests with disabilities and people with special needs can enjoy every moment to their fullest potential with us, comfortably and safely. Hosting fully inclusive spaces to accommodate physical disability and neurodivergence is always considered: from the design and considering the infrastructure, as well as equitable access to communication and policies. In London, we are working with specialist partners to help, including AccessAble, who provides accessible information for disabled people, carers and wheelchair users. Right Rooms assesses our properties in full to represent every detail that might be relevant to specific enquiries. Awards include Sea Containers London winning the Blue Badge Award for the most accessible hotel property in Europe in 2019 and One Hundred Shoreditch winning the first AHEAD Europe award for Accessibility in 2023.
